FAQ
What makes your products sustainable and eco-friendly?
Our products are carefully curated to meet high standards of sustainability. We prioritize sustainable materials that are biodegradable, compostable, or made from recycled sources. We also support products that are "made to last" for years and years. Durability and multi-use are key factors for products that include plastic or nylon. We work with eco-conscious manufacturers and suppliers who share our commitment to reducing environmental impact. By choosing our products, you contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
How do you support rainforest conservation in Ecuador and Columbia?
We actively contribute 2% of our profits to www.JustinsFrogProject.com, TheParallelProjects.com, and our nonprofit partners. One of our partners "Reserva Youth Land Trust" (reservaylt.org) is dedicated to rainforest conservation in Ecuador and Columbia. Reserva empowers young people to make a measurable difference for threatened species and habitats through conservation, education, and storytelling. Reserva creates youth-funded nature reserves around the globe. By shopping with us, you directly support initiatives that focus on conservation, protecting biodiversity, wildlife protection, and sustainable community development. We believe in creating a positive impact on both a local and global scale, and our partnerships reflect our dedication to environmental conservation. Our 13 year old son, Justin, has successfully protected over 100 acres of rainforest in Ecuador over the last 5 to 6 years. He has personally fundraised money from hundreds of individual doners to reach this milestone!
What materials are your sustainable products made from?
Our sustainable products are crafted from a variety of eco-friendly materials such as bamboo, recycled plastics, organic cotton, and other innovative alternatives. We prioritize materials that are biodegradable, compostable, and have minimal environmental impact. Each product description provides details on the specific materials used.
What is Justin's Frog Project and what does it do?
Justin's Frog Project began small with a simple goal "to save the frogs!" His project grew and grew into a global project with the goal to protect 30% of the planet by 2030. Justin was only a 5 year old boy when his project began; when he learned that frogs were environmental indicator species - and frogs were dying at an alarming rate. This meant that the planet needed our help. From helping restore our local wetlands to protecting over 100 acres of rainforest in Ecuador to tracking satellite-tagged sea turtles to protect their waterways, Justin has made a huge impact for a 13 year old boy.
What is JFP Approved?
JFP Approved or Justin's Frog Project Approved is a criteria developed to explain what makes a good sustainable product. The world is complex... and a lot of people let "perfect" get in the way of "really good." Justin made a criteria to support the companies that take active steps to make their products safer and more sustainable. It is NOT perfect, but is pretty darn good!
What is The Parallel Projects?
We can thank Jane Goodall for this project and organization. We met Jane about 6 years ago, and she told Justin that Plastic Pollution was a big, big deal that he should work on. Since that meeting we have educated and implemented every single "R" in the 10 "R's" of Recycling. We reused, repurposed, repaired, refused, and recycled. AND we felt it was not enough!!!!! This is when RECREATE was born. Our Mission is to encourage governments, businesses, and people to use their imagination to innovate and "recreate" better systems and better products so that we have a cleaner and healthier planet that we all can enjoy. The Parallel Projects has promoted this Mission with partners from Cameroon, India, Tanzania, Greece, Italy, and many more countries around the world. Plastic pollution and waste is a global inter-connected problem, and we want to solve it by working "in parallel" with our friends everywhere.
